This picture was taken at Appleford Estate in Villanova, PA.
I always take a variety of portraits of the couple on the wedding day. While most of those pictures are taken during the day, I also will take some at night as long as the couple is up for it.
The bride, Carissa, and the groom, Tim, were happy to spend a few minutes on the evening of their wedding to take some night portraits. They particularly liked this tree with the lights on it. I used my phone to reflect more of the tree lights around them and to act as a framing element. I put a light behind them to create a rim lighting effect as well as to show off the rain drops coming down. I lit them from off camera right with a flash to separate them from the background. Then I got the two of them laughing and created this image.
