This picture was taken at Hotel Bethlehem in Bethlehem, PA.
At most receptions there is the father-daughter dance. It is traditional and is always a beautiful moment between the bride and her dad.
In this image, Courtney is dancing with her father and she becomes so overcome with tears of joy that she had to wipe some of those tears away. Her and her father both began to laugh about all the tears and that's when I took this photo.
When I am photographing moments like this, I make sure that the background supports the story that is being told. I purposefully composed the picture so that you could see Courtney's family and friends behind her and her dad. The dance floor in the Grand Ballroom of Hotel Bethlehem is very spacious and allows me a lot of room to move around to capture all the events at the reception.
