This picture was taken at the Historic Hotel Bethlehem in Bethlehem, PA.
For every wedding that I photograph, I ask the bride and groom what parts of their celebration are the most important to them. We discuss the entire day from when the bride puts on her dress until the last event at the wedding reception. One part of the day involves the portraits of the couple and I always ask what locations the bride and groom are attracted to.
The couple, Teresita and Vince, said that they really loved the marble staircase at Hotel Bethlehem. For this particular picture, I decided to photograph from the side of the staircase as compared to straight on. It allowed for a different perspective of the staircase and made for a nice portrait of the two of them. From a compositional standpoint, it allowed for some diagonal lines from the staircase to move the viewers eye throughout the picture. I was also able to incorporate the Fall decor which added to the story of Teresita and Vince's wedding day.
